The last day: Reversal of
the tide

Neighbour booth friendship

Preparing,
testing for the four days at Platforms Project
The
Hague, 2024

Thoughts
Afterwards:
of PP in Athens was,
How do we
give each other space in a place
where there is all
space for imagination
but physically
limited. (booth size 3m2).
We imagined A ever changing Beach.
The image of the sea, waves, the tide,
the ever
changing beach, sand, rocks,
things, organisms,
life,
but also, the sense of
a space fuelled by stories,
myths, dreams,
gruesome tragedy, and hope.
On the waves of the sea and in the surf
pouring out on the
beach,
thoughts and memories
wash over you
in varied emotions.
Such a place does something to you.
I had this dynamic in
mind when thinking about
our yet-to-be-made
installation.
We spend 4 days
working on the installation
At different moments while working on the
installation
there were
'reflection' moments together
and with the visitors.
I tried to tune in like you once searched radio waves
looking for a
transmitter that came through clearly.
On the last day, under
the title Reversal of the Tide
We dismantled the
installation into separate elements.
The elements were
offered to the visitors.
We created a small
ceremony of exchange.
We left with an almost
empty suitcase.
About
The Platforms Project is an international exhibition of the independent art scene.
and has been presented every year since
2013.
The objective of Platforms Project is to
map artistic action as it is produced in the context of
collective initiatives by artists who
